I really do recognize and appreciate the good ones.  I have had many men love me, but for some reason, it’s unrequited.  It makes me sad, because I long for it, but I can’t force it.  But, I do value what they bring to my life, from friendship to sensitivity to honesty. Even the men that are just in my life, and not potential partners. You have shown me what a decent man is.  One that is honest, caring, intelligent, funny, thoughtful, and all the things I ask for.

In the past, I realize I picked men based on how good they looked on paper.  This wasn’t intentional of course, as it’s easy to get pulled in by the “oh, he’s a Doctor!”.  Ugh, I don’t want a Doctor, but that’s beside the point.  But I used to write down Pro/Con lists of relationships I was in, realizing that the Pros were all about THEM, while the cons were all about how they made ME FEEL.  It was very interesting.

So, I’ve started focusing on that.  Aside from amazingly beautiful, passionate Latino men (weakness!!!), I need to focus on how they make me feel.  And I watch other relationships on how they treat women.

They’re honest, straightforward, confident, secure, emotionally aware, and thoughtful.

Thank you, Larry, for always showing and reminding me.

It does exist.
